The Audeamus Mission ...
Filed in archive Personal by mstandaert on April 07, 2006

The main mission of Audeamus is to follow innovations in social entrepreneurship worldwide. This blog will also focus on international development issues (IMF, World Bank), worldwide philanthropy and non-profit work (and what's not working), social enterprise, hybrid business models, social fusion, best practices, mission focus, social engagement, blended practices, scaling-up, non-profit effectiveness, and the impacts of poverty-war-global warming-corruption-environment. The tone will be objectively pro-entrepreneurial, reformist, pro-innovation, pragmatically progressive-libertarian
in its political views (my own), as well as anti-bureaucratic, and anti-status-quo. Audeamus will try to look at these issues on both a macro level, and micro level. I'm pretty new to the world of social entrepreneurship, so this will be a learning experience for me as well as the readers of this blog. Over the past year I've been working as a writer for a small private family foundation which is focused on social entrepreneurship worldwide, and through this work, I've become greatly excited and interested in the phenomenon and in capturing how it develops over time. I'm not an expert, though I hope to bring experts to you and share their knowledge on this blog.
In the meantime, while I get this blog up and running, please visit the sites I've listed in the 'Recommended Links' bar on the right side of this blog. I'll be browsing through these frequently to pull out important stories and information for this blog. I've tried to be as comprehensive in my linking as possible, but if you see any important organizations I may have missed that should be included here, please let me know.
Audeamus, roughly translated from Latin means ..."Let us dare"
So with that, let us dare to get this big blue ball rolling.
