Filed in archive Microfinance on October 13, 2006
No doubt many of you have heard about Muhammed Yunus winning the Nobel Peace Prize today, it's been all over the airwaves. This is a great boost to the visibility of microfinance and microcredit of course and Yunus is probably one of the most worthy candidates for the award. Word is out that Yunus will donate the $1mil prize to further boosting microfinance.
newsweek has its past stories on Yunus up. Some of our past coverage of Yunus's work is here as well.
In other blog coverage of Yunus, check out TED Blog, The Dutch Guy, ShahidulNews, Minipundit, some counter arguments by Bored Housewife, Jewels in the Jungle, Personal Journey in the World of Microfinance, Marginal Revolution, and Mirocapital.
More on this in the coming days, I'm sure.
