I've been trying to figure out how to use these microfinance links that I've been saving up, but haven't come up with an adequate solution. So instead of crafting a story around these, I'll post the links here as a resource and focus on covering new and exciting stories about microfinance in the future:
*An overview of Muhammad Yunus's work in the micro loan arena.
*A 2003 study on the increase of microloans to businesses in the U.S. In 2005, however, some banks were seen as dropping their microcredit functions.
*Microloans in Malaysia ease pain of HIV/AIDS.
*In Central Asia, providing microcredit to the poor is good business.
*A story of an Albanian baker who has prospered through microfinance.
*The explosive growth of microcredit in India.
*In pdf, a case study on microloans in Bolivia.
*Predicting micro-loan defaults using probabilistic neural networks.
*Microloan help in Wales.
*Habitat for Humanity's use of microfinance.
*The Microcredit Summit will be held in Nova Scotia in November.
