Global Reporting Initiative meets to launch 'G3'-

From CSR Wire:
The G3 launch represents one of the most significant CSR developments this year. Sustainability reporting drives the corporate social responsibility agenda. The development of G3 encapsulates the direction CSR has been heading in recent years.
Thousands of stakeholders from business and civil society collaborated for three years on the consultation that created the new guidelines. This collaboration demonstrates how CSR has shifted from the model of social and environmental activists targeting laggard companies, who respond retroactively, to a new paradigm where companies and stakeholders sit at the same table to determine proactively how best to address social and environmental problems.
Reporting is only a first step to be followed by sustained corporate action on social and environmental challenges. G3 might be called a "giant step."
