Escalators and Crocs team up against toes

Normally you wouldn't have to worry about crocs when you're taking the escalator, but if your kids are wearing these special sticky shoes by the same name, you should steer clear of escalators or moving walkways. Frighteningly enough, your child might lose a toe.
The boy pictured to the left was lucky - he just lost a toe nail - but that isn't always the case. There has been a recent string of escalator and moving walkway incidents, most of them involving Crocs and lots of blood.
Crocs officials say they're working with safety officials, but safety officials say that isn't so - in fact, Crocs won't even return Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation phone calls inquiring into assistance with public education initiatives. Fortunately some companies that cater to children, such as Mattel, have taken it into their own hands to alert parents of the danger and divert them to alternate means of transportation.
Personally, I don't like escalators or moving walkways to begin with. Of course, I'm the one everyone laughs at for hesitating at the top of four steps because I'm so afraid of heights - and I've always feared those moving teeth would eat me some day. Didn't think I was right!
