Energy in the Spotlight: Week in Review

A little known fact about the energy bill (President) Bush signed on December 19 - you will be required to buy and use more efficient - and more expensive - light bulbs.
While this could be considered a good thing, I don't like government regulating what should and should not be done. If we just make everything more transparent, and leave it up to consumers, everything would work more toward the common good.
Bush also signed into law a 35-mpg minimum for new cars. This also will mean a much higher cost for consumers.
A much more interesting alternative - why don't we just start powering everything with human energy? They did it with a super computer.
