Education and sustainable development

For achieving sustainable development the role of education cannot be underemphasized as education and sustainable development are mutually enforcing which would help in achieving sustainable livelihood for people and the society.
Education is the core of any sustainable development model and it must be deep-seated meaningfully in real life situations and social and cultural experiences and viewed as a life long process involving active management and participation of the learner and people around them.
The concept of Education for Sustainable Development has been developing nationally and internationally and has been creating an impact on learning and education around the world. The partnership between the two has been playing roles at various levels. On the whole we cannot ignore the contribution of education to sustainable development.
