Since I know you don't have the time to read them, here's my review and summary of 2006 corporate sustainability reports of interest – and links to the reports just in case you're interested.
Coca-Cola [pdf] – not much environmental improvement, but a lot of money given charitably.
BP [pdf] – not much in the way of community development, but definitely improving energy efficiency and green practices.
Ford Motor Company – very definite improvement in energy and water use efficiency, and created new sustainability related positions.
Hess [pdf] – lots of charitable contributions, not much in the way of green practices… yet. They are just starting a couple green initiatives.
Nokia – environmentally speaking, they got a LOT worse, but they are participating in international development programs much more.
GE – marked improvement in all areas, including green practices, community development, philanthropy, ethics, and so forth. One of the most socially responsible companies in the world!
Kimberly-Clark – in terms of the environment, they are getting a bit better, but not by much. However, they did donate and contribute to community development quite a bit.
Royal Dutch Shell – in community development they are doing fine, but everything else basically flunked.
And if you're interested, here are even more sustainability reports from Roche, American Electric Power, Kingspan Insulated Panels [pdf], Royal Philips Electronics, Teck Cominco Limited, Carrefour Group, Pinnacle West, Suncor Energy, BCE, and Landcom.
Interested in this! Whats your impression as far as practices concerns. Is there constant improvement or are most of them not picking up the BOP/Renewable energy plot. Talk or Walk?
How come you have all the time to read these things?
