A teaspoon of sugar could be illegal soon

They want to make it so that anything you give to someone else with the intent of treating something has to be classified as a drug, else the "practitioner" face legal persecution. In other words, your upside down cup of water for hiccups
has to go through the FDA's $8 million screening process. Now this wouldn't be such a bad thing, except it's obvious who they are targetting - natural remedies. Instead of just allowing them to offer a disclaimer, much like legal advice or documents from someone other than an attorney, the FDA is seeking to flat out put them out of business.
You see, anything created by nature cannot be patented - and if you can't patent something, you can't guarantee that you will be the only company to profit from your discovery. It just doesn't make business sense to spend $8 million on something you can't patent!
I think this is the wrong way to enforce corporate social responsibility. Granted the FDA wants to protect us from those frauds - but they shouldn't take down the good guys too! There are better ways, such as instituting a less expensive way to be screened for safety, or even subsidizing the screening process for natural remedies.
If you agree, leave your comments at the Health Freedom petition by May 29th!
